I have amp wired up with a marine fm receiver on 4-6 1/2 " speakers. I have the speaker wires coming off of receiver wired to the two plugs that came with the amp and plugged into the high end crossover spot. The speakers are wired up to the ch.1,2,3,4 terminals. I have the amp power coming off a relay switch. I was wondering why the amp has to have power going to it to for the radio to play through speakers? Why wouldn't the radio just play through the amp just without being amplified? Also is there a way to make it play louder? I thought it being 1000 watts it should be a little louder than it is. Thank you
