Can I use the 1/4" microphone cord on this Pyle PMX840BT audio mixer? For some reason I cannot get any sound out of the microphones and I was wondering if the 1/4" cord might be the problem. I put the gain up on each mic and the master, but I got nothing. Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
The microphone connector is the XLR to XLR. 1/4" is for Line level input only

I have bought two of these from Amazon in the last three weeks and both of them have quit working. Power up fine ,but no output. Have you changed them,because I have used my original for karaoke for years. It finally shorted out.

[PMX840BT] How would I connect this unit to a laptop for recording / web streaming purposes? In other words, what output would I use, and cable would I require to have? Thanks much. Eric
Please follow the steps below:
1. Connect your PMX840BT Via RCA out going to the LINE IN of your laptop or microphone slot. Its gonna be a RCA to 3.5mm cable.
2. Windows should automatically recognize your device as “JeiLi BR17” or as “USB Audio CODEC” – and it should automatically install any necessary drivers.
3. To manually change your PC’s default sound device, go to start, settings, and under System, Click Display, Sound Notification, and then click on Sound, and on the right, you will see a drop-down box for Output and Input. Simply choose your output device and your input device. Select the right external sound card, so it becomes your default preferred device for sound playback. You can do the same in the below section that reads sound recording, and in that dropdown menu, you can select your USB audio device. And now, your mixer should be the default input and output sound for your computer.
