Would this work for Lithium ion golf cart in case of a fire?
No, the SereneLife SLFI5B fire extinguisher ball will not work to put out a lithium-ion golf cart battery fire.
The SLFI5B is filled with standard ABC dry chemical powder. While ABC dry powder is excellent for normal electrical or structural fires, lithium-ion battery fires undergo thermal runaway, meaning they generate their own extreme oxygen and heat internally. Standard dry chemicals cannot cool the battery cells down, so the fire will continue to burn and re-ignite right through the powder. Suppressing a lithium-ion battery runaway safely requires vast amounts of continuous water or specialized Class D/lithium-specific cooling agents.
