    • What is the diameter of the hose?

      There is no size specified regarding the exhaust hose

    • Can this unit be used without the Exhaust Hose and Window Installation Plate?

      For AC cooling mode, the exhaust hose must be connected and vented outside. The unit removes heat from the room and sends it out through the hose, so without it the room will not cool properly and the hot air will circulate back into the space. The window installation plate is the recommended way to vent the hose, but you may use another properly sealed venting method as long as the exhaust air is directed outdoors.

    • The instructions say to remove the inlet grille and pull out filters on both sides to clean the filter. My inlet grille does not seem to be removable. I was able to remove one filter by simply pulling it out, but do not see a second filter.

      You may have the updated version, which allows access to the filter without removing the air intake grill.

    • Hi, can this unit be used while a screen window is down? (The window up, of course.) There is only a 3/4 inch gap on each side of the insert when placed in my mom’s window - and the extender is too long for such a small gap (the extender is covering the hole for the hose.) I would appreciate your guidance. Thank you!

      Anti-freezing protection: temperature of the coil is too low
      and the whole A/C is off. When temperature excesses 8°C
      or 46.4°F, the protection is released and previous working
      state is recovered.

    Misleading thermostat behavior

    "AC works -- it is louder than what is comfortable for my 200 sq ft. I had a set point temperature of 73 degrees and the room was just not getting anywhere close to that. I put a thermometer on the output of the unit and saw 73 degrees exactly! I turned the set point down to 66 and now it is outputting 70 degree air -- more than 10 degrees cooler than the room. So it looks like there is a quirk to this unit that its thermostat regulates output air temp not ambient room temp."

    Powerful Cooling, Limited Dehumidifier Effectiveness

    "This bad boy really WORKS! It's pretty heavy but makes up with great power and air flow. The Dehumidifier feature doesn't really work as much as I was hoping though. It only seems to make the room extremely cold without actually sucking in the humidity (or maybe I'm using it wrong?). I own a chinchilla and lemme tell you, this bad boy makes it nice and cold in his room. Remote makes it extremely easy to use."

    Reliable but noisy

    "Bought over a year ago for bedroom & on 2nd summer in Southeast NC without trouble/leaks. Cools well, but wish I'd bought larger size because this year's higher heat makes it run far longer (frankly, with what I've learned, I buy a more expensive dual hose inverter portable). I like a breeze, so I use a standup fan by AC to distribute cool air further. ABSOLUTELY CLEAN FILTER weekly, INSULATE* TUBE & properly SEAL window! I like that it easily rolls. Not quiet, but not awful. CHECK DECIBEL LEVELS to compare units - bought 41 Db Dehumidifier** for use elsewhere & it's significantly quieter. Understand portable units DON'T LOWER HUMIDITY like typical AC's - they work differently. Dehumidification mode didn't dent our humidity much. Know unit's gravity drained & Plug's just above wheels. I raised my AC. If you want your unit to last, do the following: Drain periodically & before storing. If output levers collect condensation, dry them often to keep water out of unit. I angle levers slightly down to prevent that & haven't noticed a difference in comfort. Clean levers & use bottle brush to clean front grill behind levers if see dust, mildew or dark spots, which can also be dust collecting in moisture. *Don't buy 6"""" insulation rolls marketed for portable AC's; Search for ROLLED 6"""" INSULATION & you'll find a smaller insulation-only seller who has 2x thicker 6"""" for similar price. **For those of us in very humid areas, stand-alone Dehumidifiers heat room ~5°, so be aware if thinking to combine the two."
