    • I purchased the PCO860 online. The front Charge plug unit I received has the word "Charge" misspelled. Does this indicate a counterfeit unit?

    Incorrect hole spacing in rack ears

    "Overall the unit seems well-made but the one I received has a fatal flaw for my application: The spacing between the holes in the rack ears is wrong! The holes are approx 1 inch center-to-center which does not line up correctly with the holes in a standard 1 U rack space which are on 1. 25 inch centers (within 1 U). Comparing with the photos in the listing mine has the holes slightly farther away from the top and bottom edges of the ear than the photos show. Mine also did not come with the advertised plastic guard over the power switch. The hole spacing issue makes it useless for my application, so this thing is going back."

    Misleading Ad Copy About ""Configurable"" Rack Ears

    "The item description says: ""DETACHABLE 1U RACK DESIGN - Versatile space saving 1U form factor rackmount power strip ideal for standard 19-inch racks. Detachable mounting flanges are configurable for rack-mount, wall-mount and under-counter installation"" Farther down the page it says: ""Configurable for 1U rackmount (horizontal), wall-mount, workbench, under-counter and similar installations. "" Either of these might lead you to believe that the mounting flanges come off and can be reattached in such a way as to suspend the unit from above, e. g. underneath a counter. They come off, but they cannot be reattached in any other orientation; you can't rotate them 90 degrees, or 180 or anything. They have six screws, six holes, and they only attach to the chassis one way. So they're ""configurable"" in the sense that you can take them off and throw them away. I'm not sure how you'd ""wall-mount"" this without drilling holes in it somewhere."
