  • Since it is passive, can I use this device backwards to convert a balanced mono signal from a mixer board to an unbalanced mono signal for input to a streaming box?

    The Device can not be used as backward to convert the balanced signal to unbalanced

  • Can I use this device to reduce a line level output (from my headphone out jack on an audio amp) to a mic level, which I will use as an input to my USB audio interface at a much lower (undistorted) level? Do I plug the line level source into the balanced XLR port as an input, and use the PARPOUT 1/4" jack output as the input for my audio interface? Would plan to attenuate signal by -40dB for testing. Thanks for your help!

    This device allows a line-level source to be plugged into a mic level input. Para Out is a Passthrough Output

  • My mixing console has global phantom power. Is it safe to plug this in and will it protect my instrument from the phantom power?

    Yes, it is perfectly fine to have a passive DI box with phantom power turned on; a properly designed passive DI will not be affected by phantom power as it functions solely through a transformer, which prevents any current from flowing through it from the phantom power source.

"I have this old Concertmate Mini Moog that sounds great but I needed something to clean up the sound when I connected to my mixer. I purchased the PDC21 because I needed to balance the line sound and with it also helps eliminate the ground loop hum that this keyboard has when connecting the Stereo RCA out (RCA Out because it was made to hook up with a home stereo, really poor idea). I tested it out with a temporary connection till I received the adapters I ordered for a permanent setup. It is inexpensive, super well made and if you need to clean up your sound the PDC21 is the way to go!"

"It is a standard passive DI Box, if needed to balance signals, you are given a input & secondary aux input to support, if needed a attentuantor to make the input volume lower, the balanced output is XLR male, if needed to ground the connection (unless you like static & overtripping conductive one another. ) Just recorded a song, and am impressed at the quality I got."
