    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    Ask a Question
    • I bought the PLMRCB1 to fit over my PLMRKT38W and it does not fit. Will this one fit or is it the same exact size?

PLMRKT38W uses a standard universal dimension

    • Is the lid removable ??We installed it on our outside bar b q island. So don’t really need water proof.

The PLMRCW1 is an assembly. You would need to remove the whole waterproof assembly

    • During install: 1. should the hinge be on top or bottom? 2. Picture is confusing. Does the cover frame go on first then the radio, or does radio go in and then the cover frame?

For the PLMRCW1, the correct install orientation is:

The hinge should be on the top. That way the door opens downward, which helps keep it stable and prevents it from swinging open while driving or in motion.

For the install order, the radio goes in first, then the cover frame goes on last. The frame is designed to sit over and secure the front of the head unit once it’s already mounted in the dash opening, so it acts like a trim/finishing piece rather than something that holds the unit in place.

If the picture looks confusing, that’s normal for this kit—what matters is: mount radio securely, then snap/screw the cover frame over it, and finally attach the hinged door with the hinge at the top.
