Which DC input jack do I use to charge unit
To charge the internal battery of the PPHP122SM, you must use the circular DC 9V input jack located on the back control panel.
Do not hook your power adapter up to the bare metal screw terminals labeled "DC 12V Input." Those 12V terminals are engineered exclusively to draw raw power outward from an external car or marine battery when you are using the speaker tailgating or outdoors away from a wall outlet. To safely recharge the built-in battery, plug the factory-included 9-volt wall charger directly into that round DC 9V port. The small LED indicator light next to the jack will light up to confirm that the internal battery is pulling power and charging successfully.

How do track the battery charge?
The LED at the front panel of the unit will light a solid green once the battery is fully charged and a solid red when it is charging and a blinking red it is battery low.
