THE WINDOW SEALING KIT PANELS ARE TOO LONG TO FIT MY WINDOW. ONE PANEL COVERS PART OF THE HOLE FOR THE AIR EXHAUST DUCT ASSEMBLY SO THAT THE PANELS WON'T ALLOW THE AIR EXHAUST DUCT ASSEMBLY TO FIT WITH BOTH PANELS IN MY 3 FOOT WIDE WINDOW. NO OTHER A/C HAS THIS PROBLEM. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIT THESE PANELS INTO MY WINDOW?

The Solution: Measure and Trim the Extension Panel

Because these window slider kits are designed to extend up to nearly 5 feet, the extra plastic on the blank panel must be trimmed down if you are using it in a smaller window framework.

1. Measure Your Opening: Slide the two panels together inside your window track until they match your window's exact width (36 inches).

2. Mark the Overlap: Look at the back of the main panel where the exhaust hole is. Use a pencil to draw a line on the blank sliding panel right where it begins to block the exhaust opening.

3. Cut the Excess Plastic: Take the blank panel out of the window. Using a standard hand saw, a hacksaw, or a heavy-duty utility knife, cut the blank panel along your pencil line to remove the excess plastic tail that was blocking the hole.

4. Reassemble: Slide the newly trimmed blank panel back into the main panel's tracks and secure it with the kit's adjustment screws. The exhaust hole will now be completely clear, allowing your duct adapter to snap in perfectly.
