How does this pump deflate an inflatable?

The SLPUMP20 handles deflation by reversing the direction of the airflow using the physical air ports on the pump housing. It does not have an electronic switch to change the motor's direction; instead, it relies on a manual hose relocation system.

To deflate an inflatable, follow these steps:

1. Locate the two distinct, threaded air ports on the pump body. One is the Inflation Port (typically on the side or lower housing, blowing air out), and the other is the Deflation/Suction Port (typically on the top or upper housing, drawing air in).

2. Unscrew the heavy-duty air hose from the inflation side.

3. Thread and secure that same air hose onto the Deflation/Suction Port.

4. Select the matching valve adapter nozzle for your inflatable, insert it into the air valve, and turn the pump on. The motor will draw air out of the inflatable and exhaust it through the open inflation port.

Can this pump also be used to deflate?

Yes.

The pump seems to lock in the air release valve when inflating therefore allowing air to release when removing the connection.....or am I doing something improperly?
